Greta Mae McCabe

It is with heavy hearts that we the family of the Greta Mae McCabe announce her passing on September 22, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born February 18, 1929, in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Kathryn (MacLellan) Fidgen.
Greta spent many years administrating insurance with Druker Insurance. She loved the ocean and Cape Breton; a fabulous and generous cook; and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by son, Sean (Joanne) McCabe; daughter, Kathleen (Jay) Fowler; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, William; daughters, Maggie Costello and Mary McCabe; brothers, Reginald, Harry and Charles Fidgen, and sisters, Ivy Pier and Hattie Budden
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 30 in the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home with Rev Sheldon Chant officiating. A time of reception will follow on location.
