It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Herman ‘Harvey’ Norbet Paul on September 30, 2017 at the age of 54 at home surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born in Sydney he was the son of Mary Bridget (Nicholas) Paul and the late Herman Paul.
Herman worked several years as a store clerk at Frenchie’s Store and was a seasonal worker in Maine, working for North Eastern Blueberry Co. He was currently employed at Eskasoni Fisheries as a fisherman. He loved playing baseball and hockey, his favourite team was Toronto Maple Leafs. As a devoted son, a day didn’t go by that a phone call wasn’t made to his Mom.
Survived by his companion, Carmelina Googoo; his daughter, Jennifer Dennis; son, Jacob Paul-Gould; sisters, Rosie (Nick), Mag (Darby), Doreen (Carl), Janet (Dwayne), Shirley (Peter Prosper, deceased), Catherine (Eddie); brothers, Paul (Charlene), John Roy; grandchildren, Cordell, Carlos, Americas; godchildren, Julie Gould, Hud Paul, John Oakley-Paul, Stanley Paul Jr., Whitney Bernard and Irwin Paul.
Herman was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth; brothers, Gilbert and Richard and godparents, Michael and Elizabeth Christmas.
Visitation for Mr. Paul will begin after 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at his mother’s residence at 4797 Shore Rd., Eskasoni.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Holy Family Church with Fr. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the Holy Family parish cemetery, Eskasoni.
