Eureka - Terry William Jardine, age 56, of Eureka, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017, in the QEII, Halifax. Born in Pembroke, Ontario, he was a son of Eva (St. Clair) Halliday and the late William “Bill” Jardine. Terry was a devoted member of the Trenton and New Glasgow Regional Police Departments for over thirty years. He enjoyed his job as a Police Constable serving the public, and gained many friendships and acquaintances over the years. Terry was liked by everyone he met. His smile and quick wit always left an impression and put everyone at ease. He was a kind, generous man who loved his family dearly, especially his mom, Eva, and his “buddy” Jimmy. He was always there for his friends to lend a helping hand. He was admired dearly by his nieces and nephews, and, he loved his beloved Mimi #1, and more recently, Mimi #2. He got much joy and amusement from his loving companion. It was truly a gift he cherished. He is survived by his mother, Eva, step dad, Jim Halliday, brother: Stephen (Kathy) Jardine; sisters: Tracy (Apollo) Walton, Sonya (Trevor) MacDonald; nephews: Nicholas, Braden and Mitchell; nieces: Nicolle and Emma; his beloved companion, Mimi #2. He was predeceased by his father, William; paternal grandparents: Melvin Nelson Jardine and Gwendolyn Mary Nowlan; maternal grandparents: James and Jessie St. Clair. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow. Funeral service 11 am Wednesday, in Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, with Father Tom MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery.
