It is with great sadness that the families of Shirley Lillian Virginia Nichols nee Oake, announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the age of 82 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children; Gary Oake (Shirley) of Deer Lake, NL, Roberta Anstey (Milton) of Lethbridge, AB, Patty King (Bruce) of Fort McMurray, AB, Lorraine Evans (Dave) of Deer Lake, NL, Christopher (Tanya) of Miramichi, NB, Philip Nichols of Deer Lake, NL and Marlene Janes of Corner Brook, NL; her grandchildren Nicole, Heather, Jason, Justin, Laura, Jennifer, Shayne, Steven, Adrianna, Tristan, Emma, Shannon, Nathan, Devon, Samantha; her great-grandchildren Nicholas, Jeremy, Mallory, Lindsay, Marcel, Jenna, Avery, Zachery, Ryan, and Lucas and her great-great-granddaughter Olivia. Mother was predeceased by her husband William T (Bud) Nichols; her sons Thomas Alexander (Sandy), and Michael Anthony (Tony); her brothers Len, Tom, Godfrey and Stan; sister Martha and her parents Viola and Reginald Oake and daughter-in-law Corina Oake, Also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends. As per Shirley's wishes cremation will take place. The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from the hours of 7-9 pm. The memorial service will take place on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 2 pm from the St. Michael's And All Angels Anglican Church on Farm Road, in Deer Lake, NL, with Canon Rev Paulette Budgen officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot at The Nicholville Cemetery on Goose Arm Road, Deer Lake, NL.
