SUTHERLAND, Donald Scott
September 7, 1966 – October 2, 2017
It is with profound sadness that Don’s family announces his passing in North Vancouver, BC. Born and raised in Truro, Don was predeceased by his parents Donald A. Sutherland, Dorothy Sutherland-Paterson and stepfather Ronald Paterson. Don was of big heart and generous spirit. He loved both of Canada’s coasts but made his home in North Vancouver. He was a proud graduate of his alma mater, Dalhousie University. Don was a talented home chef who loved to share a meal with family and friends. He was also an outdoorsman and avid sailor from childhood. Don enjoyed many happy years cruising the waters of BC with Angela and the camaraderie of their friends from RVYC. He will be dearly missed by many including his beloved wife Angela, his sisters Sonja, Shelley, Kim (Mark) and brother Jamie as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, good friends and of course, his best buddy and dog, Elwood. Donations in Don’s memory may be made to Lion’s Gate Hospital Foundation or Union Gospel Mission.
