(age 65 years) — The world lost an extraordinary person on April 21, 2011 with the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather following a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents Jeremiah and Catherine Reynolds, baby sister Agnes, and father-in-law Bernard Shugarue. Leaving to mourn his best friend and devoted wife of 44 years Barbara, his loving children Michelle (Bob Fagan), and Jason (Amy Cole) and “Pop’s Girls” Riley, Kiera, Hannah, and Baby Bridgit. Also leaving to mourn his brothers Jerry (Florence), Fred (Shirley), Mike (Sherry), his sister Bernadette Trickett (Ross), mother-in-law Rita Shugarue, sister-in-law Phyllis Ryan (Gerald), and brothers-in-law Joseph Shugarue (Linda), Cyril Shugarue (Donna), a large circle of nieces and nephews and his many friends. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Doctors Grant, Mathieson and Saddiqui and to the compassionate and knowledgeable staff of 4 North B, Health Sciences Centre, where Paul spent much time over the past five and a half months. Thank you also to community health nurse April Daley for her care and support. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road on Saturday from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. and 7–9 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Funeral mass to take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 25 at Mary Queen of Peace Church with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre or to Ronald McDonald House Newfoundland and Labrador.
