Greta Evelyn Simpson – 83, of Kentville, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Annie (Rafuse) Randall. Greta loved to cook and nobody walked away from her table hungry. She loved playing bingo. Together with her husband, Arthur, they cared for many foster children. She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Rogers, Kentville; a foster daughter, Karen Rand, Wolfville; grandchildren, Coady, Holly, Steven and Jenifer; great grandchildren, Rowan, Cameron, Caleb and Savannah; sisters, Faye Walsh, Kentville and Marilyn Henderson, Wolfville; brothers, Billy, Kentville and Fred, Berwick. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; brothers, Gary and Edward “Junior”; her fur baby, Rosie. There was no visitation, by request. The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Pastor Stephen Wheaton officiating. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
