Nora Jones (nee Jarvis) of Moose Jaw passed away October 17, 2017 at Extendicare Moose Jaw 13 days after celebrating her 99th birthday. Nora was born in Moose Jaw, October 4, 1918. According to her school report cards she was at the top of her class for many grades. She graduated from high school in Regina 1936. After graduating from high school, Nora attended Davidson Business College in Moose Jaw to become a secretary. She met her husband Percy while working at Bowman Brothers in Moose Jaw. They married in 1940. As an adult, Nora’s hobbies included square dancing, knitting, swimming, skating, gardening, and bridge. Mom read voraciously and loved British authors. Nora and Percy took great pride in both of their homes: the “Wedding Cake” house at 214 Oxford St. W. and a bungalow on Redland Ave. Nora is predeceased by her husband, Percy, her parents, brother Fred, sister Margaret, and son Barry. She is lovingly remembered by her family: her son, Jeff (Mary Anne) - Sherwood Park, AB; her three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews as well as special friends Dianne Munroe, Heather Gemmell, Lorraine Gross and Lorna Bishop. The Funeral Service will be held at the W.J. Jones Chapel, 106 Athabasca ST E., Moose Jaw, Monday October 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Reverend Deacon Arleen Champion will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice. In living memory of Nora a memorial planting will be made by JONES Funeral Home.
