June Aileen HARVEY February 11, 1931 – October 6, 2017 On the morning of October 6, while her sister held her hand, June passed peacefully from sleep to eternal rest by the light of the full moon. Although she endured great pain in her life she was a cheerful good-hearted person who touched many lives and we will miss her. Born in Windsor N.S., she moved to Hamilton, Ontario, with her young son Bill, in search of better opportunities. She was a single mother in an era when that was difficult and worked hard to reach a senior position with CIBC where she worked for many years. She was a past Grand Matron and lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She moved to Kingston to be closer to her sister’s family following the death of her son. She can now join her beloved son William (Bill) St. Clair Harvey and dance to her heart’s content. She is predeceased by her parents William (Bill) and Aileen Henderson, her brother James (Jim) Henderson and his wife Audrey, her sister Joyce (Grant) and Joyce’s husband Gerald and her dear friend and brother in law Philip Roebuck. She will be sadly missed by her sister Heather (Roebuck) and her many friends, especially her dear friend and travelling companion Maureen Taylor, and her many nieces and nephews, especially grandniece Violet who was born, to June’s delight, the day before her birthday. Cremation has taken place. As per June’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Interment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Garden in Hamilton at a later date. June would appreciate donations to your favorite charity.
