It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our fun loving and supportive father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, Willie John LeBlanc. Willie passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Glace Bay Hospital at the age of 92.
Born and raised in Reserve Mines, he was the son of the late Emedee and Josephine (Deveaux) LeBlanc.
Willie resided on Lake Road and was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Parish. In his younger years he was active on Parish Council, KOC, Home and School and Local 198 BWDSU.
He was an employee of Modern City Dairy retiring after 48 years of service where his customers treated him like family. Willie was well known around the local rinks where he was an avid hockey fan and famous for waving a white hanky.
Left with broken hearts, but blessed with many fond memories and funny stories are daughter, Judy, at home, Brenda Treige (Joe), Florida, their children, Jeff (Emi) and Jennifer (Darren); sons, Harvey (Gwen), his children, Kimberly (Chris) and Bradley (Becca), his step- children, Stephen (Kerri), Stacy (Jason), Lisa (Jimmy), Cara Lee (Mike) and Dennis (Darren), Donnie (Sheila), their children, Brian (Alicia), Greg (Laura) and Amy, Gary (Margaret), his children, Angela (Jason), Allyson (Tony) and Stephen (Ashly) and step-son, Ryan (Joelena); great grandchildren, Will, Ashlyn, Jaxson, Brody, Cooper and Kota, as well as 12 step-great grandchildren, also a brother, Doug (Marg), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Willie was predeceased by his loving wife, Rita (O'Leary) and a brother, Louie.
Visitation for Willie will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 2 at Holy Cross Church, Seaview Street, Glace Bay with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating. A reception will be held in the parish hall. Interment in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
