McNAMARA, Martin Francis – Age 79, of Forest Glen, passed away on November 12th, 2017 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth, with his son Billy by his side. Born in Port Hawkesbury on March 7th, 1938, he was a son of the late William and Anne McNamara. Martin moved to Yarmouth from Port Hawkesbury at a young age. He worked as a bell boy at the Grand Hotel, then he went and worked on the Bluenose. From there he worked at the Cotton Mill and then he worked for Speedy Propane (Irving Oil) for 27 years until he retired. Martin is survived by his son, Billy (Pam) McNamara, Forest Glen; and his companion Elaine. Martin is predeceased by his wife, Caroline Marie McNamara; brothers, Donald and Larry. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. By request of the family there was no visitation or funeral service.
