The death occurred, surrounded by his family at the Palliative Care Unit of Community Hospital, O’Leary, on Monday, November 13, 2017 of Allan Herbert MacMillan, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Haliburton, aged 88 years, dear husband of Annie (nee Bridges) Allan was born in Springfield West on December 30, 1928, son of the late George & Olive (Boulter) MacMillan. Cherished Father to Joyce (Gary) Kimball, Woodstock, NB; Judy (Wyman) Paugh, Cape Wolfe; Joan (Steven) Ellis, West Cape; Janet (Jerry) Sentner, Myrna (Robbie) Cooke, and Keith (Barb) MacMillan, all of Cape Wolfe. Loving grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Step father to Stanley (Linda) Bridges, Gerald (Lynn) Bridges, Brenda (Garth) McKinnon, Lorraine (Roy) Lewis, Stephen (Kathy) Bridges and Paula (Oral) Stewart. Step grandfather to 20 step grandchildren and 23 step great grandchildren. Allan is also survived by his brother Norman (Verna), and brothers and sisters in law, Myrna Cook, Thelma Gillis, Margaret Cook, Karen Cook, Leona Rayner, Gertrude Campbell (Lloyd MacDougall), Henry Bridges, Sterling (Margaret) Rayner, Alton Raynor, Silbert (Carol) Rayner and Betty Rayner. Predeceased by his parents, his first wife Marian (October 22, 2013), Daughter Betty Ann, Granddaughter Rebecca Jane and step daughter Lori Bridges. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with visiting hours Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow in Bethel United Church Cemetery, West Cape.
