Mary Viola (nee Vigneau) Sylvester

After a long battle with ALS, Mary Viola Sylvester, at the age of 82, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 13, 2017. Currently of Brantford, ON, formerly of Sydney, NS. She is the daughter of the late Simon and Delia Langlois.
Predeceased by husbands, Paul Vigneau and Romeo Sylvester.
She is survived by her seven children, Linda Kitchen-Clark (Gary, predeceased), Shirley Wambolt (Glenn), Rena Wilcox (Fred), Barry Vigneau (Noreen), Wendy Vigneau (Len Kitchen), Valerie Mitchell (Heather) and Janet Herrington (Tim). She will be dearly missed by brothers, Dave Langlois (Margie), Paul Langlois (Dorothy), Blair Langlois (Cathy), Austin Langlois (Pam), Ronnie Langlois (Colleen, predeceased), and sisters, Stella Munroe (Elden) and Yvonne Richard (Frank, predeceased). Felling the loss are her 5 step-children, 21 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 22 nieces and nephews.
She was a life-long member of CWL (Catholic Women’s League) at Holy Redeemer Parish in Sydney, NS and Sacred Heart Parish in Paris, ON. She was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoyed bowling, golf, basketball, baseball and loved her games like Yahtzee and Pokeno. She was passionate about her faith, and devoted to her church family. Her greatest loves in life were her children and spending time with family.
Visitation will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, November 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Chant’s Funeral Home Chapel, at 11 a.m., with reception to follow.
