Linda Claire Strickey, age 73, of Falmouth, formerly of Sydney, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2017, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born March 18, 1944, in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Elsie (Adore) Pace.
A loving wife and caring mother, Linda was an especially proud grandmother to Julia and Gabby who brought her much joy over the past 16 years. Linda studied nursing after graduation from high school and had a long and fulfilling career in Sydney as a RN at St. Rita’s Hospital, and later, the MacGillivray Guest Home. Like her father, Emilio and her entire family, Linda was blessed with the gift of music and was a talented vocalist who cherished her decades of involvement with the St. Anthony Daniel Church Choir in Sydney. Together with her loving husband of 50 years, Frank, she loved to travel but was equally happy spending time with her many good friends in Falmouth and Sydney.
Linda will be dearly missed by her husband, Frank; sons, Glen (Rosalyn) and Chris (Heather); granddaughters, Julia and Gabby Strickey; sisters, Mary Mitchell, Anne Lee (Archie) Kerr, and Evelyne (Bryan) Phinnemore; sister-in-law, Shirley Pace; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Rudy; and brother-in-law, Obbie Mitchell.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 23, 2017, in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 339 King Street, Windsor, with Father John MacPherson officiating. Burial to follow in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Wiley Ave., Windsor. Donations in memory of Linda may be made to the Palliative Care at Hants Community Hospital.
