McNEIL, John “Scott” – age 52, Nicholsville, Kings Co., skated away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at home. Born in London, Ont., he was a son of John McNeil and the late Audrey (Savage) McNeil. Scott loved everything about the outdoors, fresh air, camping, fishing, biking, hiking and spending time with the outlaws at Molega Lake. Gatherings around the campfire with his favourite drink, dark rum were a happy time for him. He was a big guy with a gentle heart who developed quite a passion for cooking and was well known for his smoked meat dinners. Scott loved all sports especially hockey and will have a front row seat when the Leafs win the Stanley Cup. He leaves to mourn his wife of 27 years, the former Bonnie L. Rogers; daughter, Rachel; father, John and his wife, Colleen; brother, Mike and his wife, Jen and family; numerous uncles and aunts; mother-in-law, Minnie Rogers; in-laws, Chris, Jeff, Anne & Aron and families; as well as many friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Audrey. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., Thursday evening in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, 902-825-3448. Funeral service followed by a reception will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, November 24, in Kingston United Baptist Church, 695 Main St., Kingston. Rev. John S. Beers officiating, with interment in North Kingston Cemetery. No flowers please, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the North Kingston Cemetery.
