THOMPSON- (Mary) Elaine passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 95 years at the Swift Current Care Centre on April 17 , 2011. Left to cherish her memory- her six children, Dwayne (Joyce), Doreen (Art), Eric (Cleo), Bob (Darlene), Sharyl (Enos) & Perry. 12 grandchildren, 20 great grand children, sister Betty Nieminen & brother Peter Krismer(Ginny) & sisters-in-law, Geraldine Reid & Evelyn Krismer. Elaine was predeceased by her husband Ernest, parents Myrtle & Peter Krismer, in laws, Inga & Nordahl Thompson, brothers, Bill, Bob & Dick & sister Doris. Also by brothers-in-law, Andrew Nieminen & George Reid. Mom was born in Lake City, Minnesota on Jan. 18, 1916. She immigrated to Canada with
her parents & older brothers in 1917. Mom & Dad married in May of 1934 & lived most of their married life in Abbey where Mom filled her time with raising their family as well as being active in the community. She enjoyed curling, knitting, sewing, oil painting & crafting. In later years Mom & Dad enjoyed travelling, visiting family, camping & their yearly visits to their winter home in Arizona. Mom had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and delighted in their visits and hearing of their accomplishments. She will be fondly remembered for her "feisty nature", being a great cook & baker, the hours she spent tending her beautiful flowers in the spring & summer. How she kept up with current affairs, styles of the day and was an avid sports fan especially cheering on the Blue Jays. At Mom's request there will be a graveside interment at a later date at the Abbey Community Cemetery, Abbey, SK. Those wishing may make donations in Mom's memory to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Swift Current Care Centre Auxiliary. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
