It is with broken hearts we, the family, announce the passing of their special little brother, Neil Surette, on Friday, November 24, 2017 in the palliative care ward of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Neil was born on July 24, 1957 the son of the late Louis and Mary (Manceil) Surette.
The youngest of nine children, Neil is survived by his three brothers, Jim (Judy), Eddie (Mary), Clifford (Irene); and his three sisters, Mary Rose, Judy and Diane; along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Neil was predeceased by his brother, Lou; his sister, Linda; as well as nephew, Kellen Surette.
We would like to thank City Homemakers and Neil’s caregivers; Doctor Archibald, nursing staff of 4B at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, VON and the Palliative Care doctors and nurses who treated Neil with great care and compassion. Thanks also to our neighbours and friends who were always so kind to Neil.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Friends can meet with family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Service to take place at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate.
Reception and refreshments will be served following the service. Internment will take place at a later date.
Family flowers only. Donations to the Horizon Achievement Building Fund would be greatly appreciated.
Neil will be forever loved and missed by his family, but we take great comfort in knowing that he is safe in the arms of his ‘beloved’ Momma forever.
