Ethel Irene Myrah
March 9, 1922 – December 4, 2017

Ethel Myrah’s family is saddened to announce her passing at home in Saskatoon at the age of 95. Ethel (nee Pederson) was born in Provost, Alberta. After attending Briercrest Bible Institute in Caronport, Saskatchewan, Ethel married Norton Myrah in 1944 and they settled in Prince Albert, where they raised four children. They moved to Saskatoon with their two youngest in 1965. Ethel spent most of her married life tending to the family home, but also worked for several years as a cook at St. Andrew’s College at the University of Saskatchewan and Saskatoon Co-op. Norton and Ethel were life-long members of the Evangelical Covenant Church, first in Prince Albert and then in Saskatoon. Ethel cherished her family and they cherished her in return. She is survived by her four children – Jehryl, Marilyn, Lee, and Ted (Nancy), 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law. She was predeceased by her loving husband Norton in 2013 after 69 years of marriage, her son-in-law Stewart Ballantyne, her son-in-law Sam Zukowski, a special great-granddaughter Kit Payette, and her 1 brother and 1 sister. The family requests that in lieu of floral tributes a memorial donation be made to the College Park Covenant Church and or to the Sherbrooke Community Centre Day Program. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 8, 2017 at College Park Covenant Church, 909 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon. Arrangements in care of John Schachtel - Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200 www.mourningglory.ca
