We, the family of the late Max D.L. Simmons, would like to express our heartfelt thanks to those near and far who helped to alleviate the sorrow felt with the passing of our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

To all those who sent condolences though cards, phone calls, gifts of food, flowers and donations made in his memory, to visitation and attending the service, your kindness, support and comforting prayers will be remembered always.

Special thank you to Reverend Ian March MacCuish, for a beautiful service and your kind and comforting words and prayers when remembering Max. To Pastor L. Homan, thank you for your thoughtful scripture readings, prayers and visitation support.

To the wonderful staff of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, in particular those of 6 West, who made his stay bearable with your immeasurable kindness and compassion. To Dr. Kim Babb, for your compassion and professionalism during such a difficult time. To Reverend Bill Bartlett, thank you for the many visits, prayers and the spiritual comfort you provided during Dads final days.

To Barrett’s Funeral Home, Mount Pearl, thank you for your compassion and support during this difficult time.

Thank you Leo for your care and the laughter that you and Max shared. An extra special thank you to Barbara who took such wonderful care of Max for three years. You two had a very special bond.

Although it is impossible to thank everyone individually, your friendships and kindness will never be forgotten and we are forever grateful for you all.

Max/Dad’s greatest joy was his family and friends and each and everyone one of us had a special place in his heart. We thank God daily for allowing us to have him in our lives for so long.

~To the world he was but one, but to us he was the world~.

We love you Dad.
