CORMIER, LÉO - 1919 - 2011 - Rogersville - At the Dr Georges L.-Dumont University Hospital in Moncton, Sunday, May 1st, passed away Leo Cormier, surrounded by his family, at the age of 91 after a short illness. He was residing at the Manoir Notre-Dame in Moncton. Born in Rogersville on December 25th, 1919, he was the son of the late Jean-Baptiste Cormier and the late Catherine Richard. He is survived by his wife of the past 64 years, Lina Maillet; eight children: Wilfred (Jeannita) of Sainte-Marie, Bernice of Dieppe, Louis (Yvette) of Lower Sackville, Paul (Charlene) of Moncton, Robert (Ginette) of Rusagonis, Yvon (Marge) of Moncton, Donald (Pierrette) of Moncton, and Lucille Mazerolle (Paul) of Pointe-Sapin; five sisters: Lorette Cormier of Moncton, Anna Chiasson of Sainte-Foy, Qc, Elisabeth Arseneau of Montreal, Anita Wedge of Moncton and Elodie Goguen of Rogersville; his twelve grandchildren: Michelle, Rachel, Crystale, Charles, Adrien, Mathieu, Tommy, Danielle, Philippe, Cynthia, Marc and Brigitte; nine great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Edmond, as well as two sisters: Marie and Aurélie.
The family will receive visitors starting at 2:00pm this Tuesday, May 3rd, at the salon “La Colombe”, 11325 highway 126 in Rogersville. The funeral service will be held at the Saint-François-de-Sales RC Church, in Rogersville on Wednesday, May 4th, at 2:00pm. Visiting hours: this Tuesday, May 3rd, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9pm, and Wednesday, May 4th, from 12:30pm until the departure for the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
