Claire Gallant, 67, of Irishtown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre after a courageous battle against cancer. Born February 17, 1950 in Saint-Chrysostome P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late François and Roséline (Arsenault) Gallant. She is survived by her husband, Rosaire LeBlanc; two children: Sophie (Patrice Gagnon) of L’Assomption, Québec and François of Moncton; sisters and brothers: Cécile Gallant (Jean Bernard) and Louise of P.E.I., Maurice of Moncton, Denis (Anne) of Ottawa, Julien (Edna) and Raymond (Imelda) of P.E.I., as well as many nieces and nephews. Before her retirement in 2006, Claire worked as a teacher at École Mathieu-Martin and Sainte-Thérèse in Dieppe. Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Claire on Friday December 22, 2017 at 11 am from Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). A reception at the centre will follow. Visiting hours are Thursday December 21, 2017 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by the celebration of life.
