Ernest Ralph (Yogi) Cochrane
It is with heavy hearts, we the family announce the passing of Ernie Cochrane on December 20, 2017 at Seaview Manor at the age of 89.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Clarence and Cerena Cochrane. Da worked in various coal mines until his retirement, then his passion was his garden. He is survived by his loving wife, of 65 years, Mary (Mercer), and his children, Tom (Norma), Linda (Bill), Gary (Kim), and Betty. He was the proud and loving grandfather to Michael, Kent, Jamie, Brandon, Erin, Cerena, Zara, Kristen and Katherine, great grandchildren, Samantha, Melanie, Natalie, Emmett and Casey. He is also survived by his sisters, Blanche, Kathleen and Shirley; brothers, Tom and Bill. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Stella, Claire and Mildred, brothers, John, Melvin and Joe.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ernie’s life will be Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the T. J. Tracey Family Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902-849-4199
