Passed away on December 26, 2017, Cornelius (Bud) Smith, of Dunville, and previously Freshwater. Predeceased by parents Cornelius and Margaret (Griffin); sisters Peggy, 2001 and Dolly (Bob Murphy), 1985; parents-in-law Pius and Beatrice Murphy. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife Ann (Murphy), loving daughter Nancy (Darren MacDonald) and treasured grandson, Rory, and loving son Michael (Susie Vokey); siblings, Lorraine (Bill "Flash" Gordon, deceased), Joe (Marion), Bill (Carmel), Kathleen (Whitey) O’Reilly, Maureen (Pearly) O’Reilly, Wayne (Debbie), Eddie (Phyllis) and Clint; special aunt, Mel Smith, in Massachusetts; and a large number of nieces and nephews, many other relatives, friends, and former students. Bud will be forever remembered for his kind and generous ways, his gentle manner, and his great sense of humour. We will also very much miss Bud’s great musical talents, which he shared over the years both in bands he played with and at so many parties and sing-alongs. One of his friends once commented, "The party doesn’t really start till Bud Smith gets here". Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia.
