At the Palliative Care Unit of Community Hospital, O’Leary on Saturday, May 7, 2011 of John “Vance” MacKay, Veteran of the Second World War, of O’Leary formerly of Bloomfield aged 90, beloved husband of Reta (nee Bradshaw) MacKay. He was born at Campbellton on Oct. 3, 1920 , son of the late James and Bessie (Walsh) MacKay. Dear father of Judy Sereda, Bowmanville, ON; James (Joanne) MacKay, Charlottetown and Pauline (David) Gallant, Charlottetown. Loving grandfather Christopher (Lisa), Sereda, Jason Sereda, Kelly MacKay, Michael MacKay and Michael Gallant. Brother of Irma O’Hara, Montreal. Brother in law of Mae Cameron, and Everett Bradshaw. Predeceased by his parents, son in law Roman, brothers and sisters Edward, Marion, Muriel, Albert, Kenneth, Dan, Harry, Mysie, Mary and George. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, O’Leary at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in the Campbellton United Church Cemetery. Memorials to the Campbellton United Church Cemetery or O’Leary Community Health Foundation would be appreciated. Brethren of Zetland Lodge #7, Alberton will be holding a Masonic Memorial service for their late Very Worshipful Brother at the Funeral home Tuesday at 9 p.m.
