The death occurred peacefully, with his loving wife, Joyce MacKenzie (Chappell), by his side, in Saint John, New Brunswick, on Thursday, January 4, 2018, of D. Wendell MacKenzie, of Harrington and formerly of North Milton, aged 85. Wendell was the beloved father of Wendy Younker (Frank Toole) and Shelly MacKenzie (Thane Adams, deceased); grandfather of Earl Stewart (Brianne), Jessica Campbell (David), Jennifer Doughty, Howard Axworthy (Chrissy), Lindsey Brookins (Morgan Kells), George Brookins, Bobby Toole (Krista Falls), Jennifer Toole, Ryan Toole (Robyn MacLean), Jarrod Adams (Kristy Dutcher), and Joee Adams (Jaime Hood); and great-grandfather of eighteen. He is also survived by his brother, George MacKenzie (Doris); brothers-in-law, Earl Chappell (Melba), Bill Chappell and Raymond Chappell; and sister-in-law, Barb Tenthorey. Wendell was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Gwen (Johnston) MacKenzie; mother-in-law, Mary Warren (Bill, step father-in-law); father-in-law, Earl Chappell; sisters-in-law, Wanda Sanderson and Lois Chappell; and brother-in-law, Sidney Sanderson . Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. The funeral will be celebrated at St. John’s Anglican Church, Milton, on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery.
