Stanley Leroy Apesland

March 24, 1943 - January 6, 2018

Stan Apesland passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital with
his family that he loved by his side on Saturday, January 6. Stan was
born to Sam and Magda Apesland at Kinistino hospital and grew up on the
family farm at Weldon. At the age of 10, he spent 1 1/2 years in
Norway, with his family, and learned to speak the Norwegian language.
He was very community minded and helped in every aspect to make Weldon a
better place to live. Stan took over the family farm at an early age
due to his father's illness and continued to mix farm and joined by
brother-in-law Vern Leland. In November 1966, he married Trudy
Erickson, and to this union son Corey and daughter Mardi were
born. He was so proud of his children. His passions were reading,
playing hockey, fishing, hunting and camping. Also spent many winters
in Arizona. He loved his families, and was a favorite to his
grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mardi said he gave the best hugs and
was always so supportive - He was told he was the best uncle. Stan will
be forever remembered by his wife, Trudy, of 51 years, son Corey
(Marcia), papa to Caelan, Mallie, and Lauren, daughter Mardi, brother
Harold (Anna), sister Sylvia (Vern Leland), brother and sister-in-law
Sandra (Brian) Paine, Eric (Eileen) Erickson, Karon (Wayne) Thompson and
families. Was predeceased by parents Soren (Sam) and Magda Apesland,
in-laws Peter and Olive Erickson, nephews Greg Leland and Jeff Paine,
niece Tara (Apesland) Regush, step granddaughter Ainsley Nash. Sincere
thanks to Dr. M. McMahon for her kind and compassionate care, Drs. Le,
Igbal, Bathini and Olszynski. Cremation. A Private Family Interment
will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the charity of one's
choice. Arrangements in care of MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME (306-934-4888).
