Perley (Bucky) Malcolm Broughm

Perley (Bucky) Malcolm Broughm

It is with heavy hearts, minds and souls, that we the family of Perley (Bucky) Broughm, announce his passing at the QE 2, Halifax, Nova Scotia on January 5, 2018. Born in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, he was the son of Florence Dolliver and the late Loran Dolliver. Perley, better known as Bucky, worked 19 years for City Wide Taxi. After this, he became a Courier driver for Custom Cartage, ARJ Distributors and Rapid Courier, in which he did the Cheticamp run. Later, Bucky went to work for BCB Expetidies Ltd, which is an agent for Purolator, until he was forced to retire in 2013 because of his health. His biggest passion was Stockcars. On 2 occasions, Bucky got the chance to build and drive at least 2 stockcars, the latest was with Winston (Bubbins) MacDonald and David (Big Dave) Collins. Bucky also loved to make the people around him laugh. He was always tormenting and/or picking on someone (mainly his son Josh) or telling silly little jokes that made no sense at times. Bucky loved spending time with family and friends, but also spending time with our 2 fur babies, Beannie and Elle. These were his girls and he had them both spoiled so very much. Bucky is survived by his wife of 35 years, Doreen and his sons, Joshua (at home), Patrick (Tammy) Wadden, Sydney, N.S. and Bert Wiswell, Truro, N.S.; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Florence Dolliver; sister, Kathy (Clayton) Dolliver-Profit, both from Angus, Ont., and Brother Mike (Mary) Dolliver, Minden, Ont. He is also survived by several Aunts and Uncles, along with a number of nieces and 1 nephew, his best friends Winston (Bubbins) MacDonald, Cathy Holland and Cathy Allen-Phillips and many more.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his Mother & Father-in-law, John and Annie Urquhart; grandmother, Ivy Broughm as well as several aunts and uncles. Visitation, service and reception will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2018 beginning at 2 p.m. at S.W.Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Donations to the NS Heart & Stroke or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Online condolences may be sent to chantfuneralhome.ca.
