Linda Bernice Schnare – 62, of Centreville, Kings County, passed away Monday, 8 January 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of Cecil and Shirley (Welton) Russell, Kentville. In 1975, Linda married David Schnare in Kentville and their family moved throughout the country as members of the Canadian Armed Forces. She enjoyed travelling with family, playing bingo and cards, T.O.P.S, dancing, scrapbooking, camping with the grand kids, painting and hosting family gatherings. Linda loved her family and was a loyal friend. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, David; two daughters, Jodi Schnare (Andrew Burtt), Oromocto, NB; Cherrisse (Adrian) LeBlanc, Ottawa, ON; a son, Donald, Winnipeg, MB; a sister, Nancy (Ron) Russell; three brothers, Frank (Judy) Russell, Brian (Bobbie) Russell and John Russell; mother-in-law, Anna Schnare, Centreville; two sisters-in-law, Donna Ells and Karen Penner, both of Centreville; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Joanne) Schnare, Steam Mill; eight grandchildren, Gavin, Collin, Liam, London, Gryphon, Ember, Emaly and Alexis; many special cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her dog, Pixie, whom she adored greatly. She was predeceased by a brother, Kirk; father-in-law, Donald Schnare. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, 11 January 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, 12 January 2018, Reverend Doctor John Roddam officiating. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Cancer Research Society.
