Ronald Albert "Ron" Boyd

Boyd, Ronald Albert “Ron”, 71 – Truro Heights
Sadly we had to say goodbye to our dear Ron in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre on Monday, January 8, 2018. Born in the Berwick Hospital to Mildred Bernice and Albert St. Clair Boyd. From an early age he had the ability to fix anything. He graduated in mechanics from the Nova Scotia Community School and went on to work many years in various areas of the automotive industry from auto mechanic, to service managers at Esso, and Canadian Tire in Greenwood. He then spent several years working as an Insurance Agent with Great West Life where he won the President’s Award. Ron finished his career working as a Technical/Trainer/Manager travelling the Maritimes for Bear Automotive and BC training for the Maritimes before retiring due to illness. Ron was a devoted member of the Colchester Stroke Club and was the bingo caller for their special days. Ron’s friends and family loved him. He was a kind, loving man, sometimes witty and humorous. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 50 years, best friend and caregiver, Deborah Boyd (Carey); son, Travis Boyd (Shelley); granddaughters, Alyssa, Aimee and Carlee, Sarah (Adam) Hadley; great grandson, Benjamin Hadley; sister, Etta Parker, Halifax, and many cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother, Ralph S. Parker, Vancouver. The family would like to thank Doctors T. Locke, Dr. Penn and the Palliative Care team. Thank you to the nurses at Colchester East Hants Health Centre who with their expertise and kindness helped the family through a very difficult time. Family flowers only please. Donations would be appreciated in Ron’s memory to Colchester Stroke Club, Colchester East Hants Hospice Society, VON, Palliative Care or Canadian Red Cross. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, January 13 with words of remembrance at 2:30 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro.
