Age 81, of Valley NS passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones Jan. 10 2018 in Colchester East Hants Health Center. Truro N.S.
Vivian "Viv" was born in Springhill N.S. the eldest child of the late Harry Leo "Lee" Boutilier and Mae (Harrison) Boutilier, both of Springhill Jct. N.S.
In 1953 she met and married her husband Tom "Tucker" then a newly trained member of the R.C.A.F. Together they travelled the country and Europe,raising four children and moving twelve times,settling in Valley N.S. after Tom retired from his 36 year military career. She was an accomplished seamstress, known for her exquisite Hallowe'en costumes and quilts, handmade for each of her grandchildren. She was a skilled and productive knitter, which she passed down to the next two generations. Viv was also an avid curler throwing rocks out of the Truro Curling Club and many other clubs from N.S. to B.C. She loved sunshine and warm days on her deck. Her passion was being a Nana. She grandmothered eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren always full of joy in their company.
Viv is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Tom Spence.

Grandchildren, Melanie Spence,Tom Spence,Duncan Ferguson,Jordan Ferguson,Hilary Ferguson,Stephanie Taylor,Levi Temkin and Shannon Spence
Great grandchildren, Violet Spartinelli,Indie Spartinelli,Grace Ferguson and Ewan Ferguson
Sisters,Jessie Kempt,Moncton N.B.,Pat Cole,Dartmouth N.S.,brothers Gerald,TurtleCreek N.B. Ernie and Carson Cape Tormentine N.B.
She will be missed by a very special neighbour Susan.
Viv was predeceased by her parents,her youngest son Kevin Spence and brothers John,Rick and Gary.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service at her request.
