Deborah Anne Batten, 62 of Glace Bay passed away January 9, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of Neil and Sadie (O'Handley) MacKinnon.
Family was the most important thing in her life and everything she did was in support of her loved ones. She was a wonderful mother, wife, and friend to countless people. She worked most of her adult life in retail.
Survived by her husband, Joe Batten; her son, Chris (Kimberly); brothers, Neil (Val), Basil (Claudia), and Chuck (Peggy); sisters, Mary Madore, Muriel MacKinnon, Kathy (Bob) Bradbury, and Sandra (Mike) McDonough. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, sister and brothers-in-law, cousins, and special friends Maureen and Paula.
Debbie was predeceased by her parents, mother and father-in-law, Ally and Kay Batten; sister, Shirley; brothers, Paul and Gerard; and four siblings in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902-849-4199 with Rev. McGillvray officiating. A reception to follow.
