Mary Sharon Scully

With profound sadness we said goodbye to Mary Sharon Scully on Friday, January 5, 2018, just three days after her 73rd birthday. Words cannot express the grief felt by Sharon’s family: Walter Keicher, devoted husband of 20 years; cherished children Carmen Doyle (daughters Rosemarie Topp & Evangeline Doyle) and Michael Doyle (sons Nicholas & Nathan Doyle) and devoted daughter-in-law Viviana Doyle (son Alejandro Amaya); loving sisters and brother Sheila (Scully) & Eric Kelly, Gary & Shirley Scully, Patricia (Scully) & John Morton; wonderful stepfather of 53 years Michael Sullivan; Walter’s children Mark & Pia (Ida & Elis) Keicher, Andrea & Jason (Dexter & Olivia) Szabo, Thomas & Lisa (Erika, Alyssa & Carina) Zuhlsdorf. Sharon loved and admired all her nieces, nephews and cousins; family was everything to her. Sharon was pre-deceased by her sister Doreen McSheffery (Harry), her mother Agnes (French) Sullivan, and her father Joseph Scully; her first husband Ernie Doyle. Described by her grandchildren as "feisty & fun, provider of warm hugs, delicious cinnamon buns, pb & syrup sandwiches and snuggly scarves" Sharon will be best remembered for her courage, intelligence, and generosity. Sharon moved to Ontario in 1979, but Prince Edward Island will always be her home. She enjoyed summers in P.E.I. with Walt kayaking, cycling and working on their cottage, and the rest of the year skiing, sewing and working on their homes in Campbellford and Peterborough. A Memorial Service will be held in The St. James Catholic Church, Georgetown on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Sharon’s life will be celebrated this summer in P.E.I., details to be confirmed. We thank our extended families, especially the Fernandezes, Martells, Mulligans, and Topps for their love and support. We are also grateful to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre and will always remember the exceptional care and compassion provided to Sharon and us, her loved ones, in our last few weeks together. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Unit at PRHC are welcomed. Arrangements entrusted to Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home www.fergusonlogan.com
