John Joseph ‘JJ’ ST. JOHN

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Joe ‘JJ’, announce his passing on January 21, 2018 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Leo and Emmaline (Piercey) St. John. He was born and raised in Whitney Pier, and spent his working years climbing the steel as a rigger.
He is survived by his daughters, Marie, Heather Webster (Mike), and grandchildren, Sinead, William and Sarah, all of Guelph, ON. Also surviving are brothers, Pat ‘Bimbo’ (Marg), South Bar and Danny (Brenda), Truro, as well as brother-in-law, James Nimchuk.
He was predeceased by sisters, Sharon Nimchuk, Mary (Dan) Halleran, and brothers, Alex and Gregory.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24 from 7-9 p.m. at Chant’s Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Thursday, January 25 at 11 a.m. at the Chant’s Funeral Home Chapel with interment to take place in Resurrection Cemetery.
