CLAIRMONT, Loring Aubrey – age 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born January 25, 1947 in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Leta (Robicheau) Clairmont. Loring was a retired fisherman and truck driver, having also worked in Maine picking apples. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping and going to bluegrass festivals, but his true passion was building model boats. He was also a member of the Sou’West Nova ATV Association. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Alice (Harris) Clairmont, as well as by their daughters, Laurianne, Barbie Jo (Mike) and Yvette (Dason); grandchildren, Ryan (Sheila), Colin, Danielle (Ryan), Garrett (Miranda), Alyssa (Stephen), Colton and two great grandchildren, Ava and Sawyer. He is also survived by a brother, Russell (Elaine) Clairmont; a sister, Janice (Bill) Corkum; God-daughters, Donnalee and Lisa; many nieces, nephews and friends, including his faithful buddy, Larry. Aside from his parents, Loring was predeceased by a sister, Sheila and a half sister, Leona. Visitation took place from 7-9 Wednesday evening, with prayers at 8 p.m. at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. The funeral was held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 1, from Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Melbourne, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery Fund or to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Webster, Dr. Eissa, Dr. Kim, the Respiratory Therapists and the nursing staff in the oncology department and on 3-South for the wonderful care and compassion they showed Loring and his family throughout his illness.
