It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Marie (Clarke) Hastings, 84, Amherst on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Northumberland Hall, Amherst with her loving husband by her side.
Born on July 26, 1926 in Springhill, NS, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Lottie (Chittick) Clarke.
Joyce worked at Moss Jewellers in Amherst for several years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Amherst. Joyce served on the executive for the former C.A.M.R. for number of years. She was a loving wife, caring and compassionate mother to her son, Jeffrey and will be dearly missed.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ron Hastings; beloved son, Jeffrey at home; brothers, Clark Clement and James Clement both of Annapolis Valley, NS; several nieces and nephews; also left to mourn are the Hastings extended family.
Joyce was predeceased by her sisters, Juanita and Louise in infancy.
No visitation by request.
A private graveside service will be held in the Amherst Cemetery with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Memorial donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
