It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our wonderful mother Agnes Martindale, who passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, in Brampton, Ont., surrounded by her loving family.
Aggie was born in Boisdale, N.S., Oct. 20, 1924, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Agatha MacMullin.
Aggie is survived by her three daughters, Gaye MacDonald, Marion Bridge, N.S., Barbara Caravello (Mel), Orangeville, Ont., and Anne Simpson (Wayne), Brampton, Ont.; and her sister, Mary Boyd, Sydney, N.S. A wonderful Markin who was adored by her nine grandchildren, Joy, Tony, Glenn, Kenny, Kelly, Tracey, Kari, Brent and Adrian and her 13 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Michael, Kenny, Dustin, Niall, Madison, Meloni, Ethan, Sandy, Wyatt, Parker, Nevée and Ryland. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Aggie was predeceased by her husband, Len Martindale, son-in-law, Ken MacDonald, her sisters, Katherine Smith, Sadie Penny, Sister Mary Cleta, and her brothers, Donald, Paddy and Pius MacMullin.
A celebration of her life was held in Brampton, Ont., Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009. Aggie was then brought home to Cape Breton and will be laid to rest Saturday, Aug. 22 at St. Andrew’s Parish, Boisdale. Visitation is at 10 a.m. Celebration of Mass at 11 a.m. followed by interment.
She will always be remembered for her incredible sense of humour, dedication to her family and unbelievable strength.
