The death occurred at Andrews of Summerside, on Thursday, May 12, 2011, of Helena Birch, R.N., of Summerside, aged 86 years. Born in Saskatoon, SK, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Maude (Baird) Bell. Survived by her daughter Karleen Mitchell, Lower Sackville, NS; Donna Birch (Ron Dowling), Summerside; Wendy (Glenn) Holmes, Stratford; grandchildren Shawna, Troy (Christine), Jamie, Ben and Landon; great-granddaughter Madeline; sister-in-law Mary Bell, Edmonton, AB; and by her brother-in-law Robert McKay, Niagara, ON. Predeceased by her husband Donald Birch; brother Donald Bell; sister Jeanann McKay; and by her son-in-law Lawrence Mitchell. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside. A private family graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. No visiting hours by personal request.
