Augustus “Gussie” MacDonald age 73, of Stellarton passed away on February 16, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Stellarton he was a son of the late John Fraser and Annie C. MacDonald.
Gussie was a resident of Stellarton all his life. He worked for many years with Dan Dykens Trucking, the Town of Stellarton and later as a cross walk guard. He was a member of New Life Church in Stellarton.
He is survived by his daughter Stephanie (James) Anderson, grandchildren Abby, David, and Noah, brother Danny MacDonald, sister Mary (MacDonald) Simpson.
He was predeceased by his wife Charlene (Gratto) MacDonald, brothers Joseph MacDonald and David MacDonald.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in New Life Church, Stellarton with Brother Dean Dickenson and Brother Duane Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
