Olga Thompson

It is with great sadness and sorrow we, the family of Olga Thompson, would like to announce her passing at the age of 93 (May 14, 1924 to February 13, 2018).
This amazing lady was dearly loved by all of those who knew her.
Olga is survived by her only son, Daniel Michael Hawryluk and her daughter-in-law, Colleen Hawryluk.
She is predeceased by her two husbands, Michael Hawryluk and George K. Thompson.
She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and blessed to be a great great grandmother. Olga is survived by her grandchildren, Janice, Michael, Mary and Ann; her great grandchildren, Danielle -who Olga raised as her own daughter, Lyndsey, Tabatha, Michael Glen, Michael Allen, Cole and Colby, and blessed with two great-great grandchildren, Timothy and Mason.
Olga is the last surviving member of her family, predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Carrie Krushinsky; her four brothers, Peter, Steve, Nick and Paul, and her five sisters, Mary, Nancy, Ann, Mildred and her baby sister Lilian.
Olga was known for her generous heart, she was always lending a helping hand to those in need, she enjoyed cooking and sharing her fresh baked goodies with all. Olga took great pride in her home and most of all her family, she did all she could to help make sure her family were happy and healthy. Olga had a favourite pastime, it was bingo, she played until she was 91, she loved going to the games, seeing a couple of old friends and of course winning the jackpot.
Our family would like to send a very special thank you to all the doctors and nurses who helped in caring for Olga both at Glace Bay General and New Waterford Hospital.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Curry’s Funeral Home 902-849-7617. Olga's funeral service will be held at a later date; her wishes were to have a private family service.
