Trenton - Mary Ann “Mamie” Henderson, 91, of Glen Haven Manor, formerly of Trenton, went to be with her Lord, March 1st, 2018, with her family by her side.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late John and Jessie Ann (MacLean) McInnis. During the Second World War, she worked in Trenton at the Munitions Factory. Mamie was a faithful member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton, where she served her Lord, taught catechism, was a member of the choir and was always volunteering to lend a hand. Mamie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will always be remembered for her love of music and could often be heard humming a tune.
Surviving are daughters: Brenda (Mike), Trenton; Joan (Barry), Marshalls Crossing; sons: Robert (Patty), New Glasgow; Peter (Becki), Alberta; grandchildren: Angela; Matthew (Tammy); Patrick (Rachel); Emily; Carli; and Richard; great grandchildren: Jacob and Ava; sisters: Renie, Trenton; Mildred, Trenton; brothers: Sylvester (Marlene), Port Bickerton; Collie (Norma), Trenton; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mamie was predeceased by her husband, Robert; daughter, Patricia “Trich”; sisters: Dorothy, Jessie, Eunice and Hilda in infancy; brothers: Pete, Dougie, Donnie and Neil.
The family will receive visitors Sunday, March 4th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 73 High St., Trenton. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11 am Monday, March 5th, from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Colin MacKinnon presiding. Burial will be in Christ the King Cemetery, Trenton. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in Mamie’s memory to Glen Haven Manor Recreation Fund or a charity of choice.
