Ronald Joseph MacKeigan

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Ronald MacKeigan, 77, announce his passing on Monday, March 5, 2018, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Florence on March 4, 1941, he was the son of Angus and Catherine (Dolhanty) MacKeigan.
Ron was in the RCAF for ten years before he moved to Vancouver, BC, where he worked as a warehouse supervisor, a truck driver owner-operator, and spent two years in Seattle Washington working in the shipyards.
Ron is survived by his ex-wife, Irene; son, Anthony; daughter, Anita, and his grandson, Andrew, all of BC. He is also survived by his sisters, Ann Wuest, Norma Turner and Ruthie (John) MacDonald; brothers, Steve (Pauline) and Dougie (Kathryn), and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his wife, Margaret; son, A.J.; brother, Russell (wife Lillian), and brothers-in-law, Bill (Ann) and Ray (Norma).
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral Mass celebrating his life will take place on Friday, March 9, 2018, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Main St., Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. A reception will be held in the parish hall, after the service.
