It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frank Wilson Janes announce his peaceful passing at Corner Brook Long Term Care on Sunday, March 11, 2018 in his 91st year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters: Barbara (Derek) Brown of Corner Brook and Lisa (Brian) Johnston of Rothesay NB; grandchildren: Tracy Brown (Scott) of Vancouver BC, Andrew Brown (Kathleen) of Quadra Island BC, Emma & Adam Johnston of Rothesay NB; great-grandsons: Keller Brown of Quadra Island BC & Stanley Sutton Derganc of Vancouver BC; sisters: Helen Humphries and Evelyn Blackwood; sisters-in-law: Mamie (Wilfred) Howell of St. John’s NL, Joan Pinsent of Stephenville NL, Patt Wiggins (Glenn) of Buckingham QC, and Maude Janes; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Frank was predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth Gladys Janes (2015); parents: Othinal & Mary Janes; mother and father-in-law: Stephen & Annie Pearl Stratton; sister Sarah White (Norman); sisters in law: Sadie (Nat) Pinsent and Alma Stratton; brothers: Clarence Janes and Harold Janes; brothers-in-law: George Stratton (Beatrice), Jack Stratton (Alma), Dawson Stratton (Jean), Harold Pinsent, Lacey Humphries, and Eleazor Blackwood. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from the hours of 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, March 16, 2018 from the Oakland United Church on Oakes Road at 2 pm with Rev. Clayton Parsons officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of one’s choice.
