Rita Wall

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Rita Wall, on Thursday March 15, 2018, at the age of 87 years.
Born November 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Marcellin Chiasson and Virgine (Deveau) Chiasson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mom worked hard throughout her life, raising her family and working at several jobs, finally retiring from managing the 18th Century Restaurant at the Fortress of Louisbourg. A woman of great faith, she was deeply involved in the St. Theresa’s Parish Prayer Group, served as Eucharistic Minister for over two decades, and was a long time member of St. Theresa’s CWL.
She leaves behind to mourn her children, Wendy (Jim) Corbett, Darrell (Ann Marie) Wall, Daniel (Carol) Wall, and Kevin (Shannon Clark) Wall; grandchildren, Michael (Sarah Jaarsma) Corbett, Pamela (David) Johnson, Jessica (Michael Fitzpatrick) Corbett, Tracey (Don) Cropley, Amy (Roger) Parent, Cory (Megan) Wall, DJ Wall; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Peyton, Lily, Lucy, Liam, Logan, Caleb, Kinsley, Madison, Zuzana, Tahla, Keyra; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by husband, Leo Wall; son, Gary Wall; as well as by sisters, Marie Rose, Antoinette, Lucy, Sophie Anne, Emma, Virginia, Marie Julie, Rita; brothers, Joseph, Come, Frederick, Tommy, Pepin, Marcellin and Daniel.
Visitation for the late Rita Wall will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, Sydney. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa’s Church, Sydney, on March 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Dennis Lamey presiding. Reception to follow at St. Theresa’s Parish Hall. Burial will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
