Douglas Jacob Rogers
On March 14, 2018, following a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Douglas Jacob Rogers, age 62, passed away at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born on September 22, 1955, and raised in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, Douglas was the youngest child of the late Harry and Ada (Nash) Rogers. He worked for many years at the Ashburn Golf Club in Dartmouth and more recently at Innovacorp, retiring in 2017. Douglas was an outdoor enthusiast, spending many hours on the golf course or fishing with his buddies in the Cape Breton Highlands. A quiet soul, he spent many hours reading and listening to music. Douglas is survived by his sons, Troy and Derek; brother, Wayne (Connie) Rogers and sister, Audrey (John) Crosby. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Brookside Cemetery (Sydney Mines, NS) at a later date, with family friend Dianne Kempt DLM, officiating.
