We regret to announce the passing of John Thomas (Hobo) Tremblett, 65, on Thursday, March 22, 2018, in Halifax.
Born in Sydney Mines on May 21, 1952, Johnny was the son of the late John and Lucy (Cousins) Tremblett.
Johnny worked on the Lake Boats for most of his career, where he shared lots of good times with his shipmates, who remain friends to this day. He told stories of his many escapades, both real and imagined, to all those who would listen. His passion for tarbish and having a good laugh will be forever remembered by all who knew him. He will also be missed by his weekly poker buddies.
On July 16, 2017, Johnny married the love of his life, Sandra. They were an inseparable couple for the past eight years.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Donna (Eddy) Hall; son, Dalton Stewart; step-daughter, Courtney (Kyle) Richardson; grandson, Connor Hall; granddaughters, Carly and Peyton Richardson; sisters, Donna (Calvin) Anderson, Valerie (Victor) Reardon, Doreen (Brian) Acorn, Susan Bragg; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Johnny was predeceased by his sister, Sherry LeBlanc.
Visitation for Johnny Tremblett will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines.
A celebration of his life will take place Wednesday, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Stacey LeMoine officiating. A lunch will follow at the Sydney Mines Senior Citizens and Pensioners Club, 6 Fraser Ave., Sydney Mines.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Johnny’s name may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Health Authority Dialysis Unit, or by donating a deck of Bicycle Cards that will be presented in Johnny’s memory to the numerous community halls where he played tarbish most days of the week. Johnny and Sandra wish to thank all the staff at the many hospitals which, over the past eight years, provided exemplary medical treatment and treated Johnny with the utmost respect and dignity. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
