We, the family, regret to announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, Sharon Royal, 76, of Point Tupper.
She passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on March 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Bernedette Alexandria MacLean and Roderick Albert MacLean, as well as her brother, Carey Roderick MacLean.
Sharon leaves behind her three children, Wanda (Sandy), Maxine (Lloyd) and Roddie (Laura Lee); her nine grandchildren, Crystal (Dylan), Carey (Elvis), Krista, Rebecca, Devin, Lyndon, Braden and Tristan, and four great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Cameron, Shanna and Jonathan. Also, her two sisters, Henrietta Gale and Andrea (Mike) Usick; special niece, Jenna Usick, and nephews, John and Rodney Gale. She is also survived by the father of her children, Maxwell Royal; brother-in-law, Wayne Royal, and second son, Ralph Nicholson.
Sharon loved to be surrounded by children and answered to just ‘Nan’ by all. She volunteered as a brownie and cubs leader and was a second mom to many. She loved to play Bingo, was the president of the ladies Auxiliary Branch 126 and was a part of the volunteer fire department in Westmount.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Small graveside memorial service will be held for immediate family in Port Hawkesbury at a later date.
