Jerry Norbert Davies
At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on April 6, 2018, Jerry Norbert Davies of High Bank, dear partner and soulmate of Marian Bruce. Jerry was born in July 1940 in Wisconsin but lived as a child on a ranch in Palm Springs, California, a period that nurtured his life-long love affair with horses. As a young man, he served in the US Navy, practiced a number of trades and eventually built and ran a plant nursery in Los Angeles. In 1986, he moved to P.E.I. with three horses, three dogs, ten cats and a pet crow, and quickly became a much-loved part of the community. Jerry was predeceased by his mother, Verna Davies, birth father Kelly Noey, and adoptive father Carroll Davies. Besides Marian, he is survived by a son, John Hadley (Amelia); grandchildren Chelsea, Cameron, Ryln, Bronte, Stayg and Hejira; brother Tom Davies (Cara) and niece Michaela Davies; and special friends Mark and Lisa Carroll, all of California. He will also be sorely missed by many Island friends and horses Bunny and Sissy, dogs Molly and Teddy, and cat Percy. A memorial service will be held about the first of June.
