Zoe Gathercole, beloved wife of the Late George Gathercole of Calgary, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the age of 92 years. She was predeceased by her parents Peter Gavin and Francis O’Brien and siblings Gertrude Gavin, Anna Symthe, Francis Shea, Herbert Gavin. Zoe always considered P.E.I. home and missed life on the island. Zoe moved to Ontario where she met George who was based at the Trenton Air Force Base. She supported George’s many moves across the country with the Canadian Air Force eventually settling in Calgary where she worked as property manager alongside George until retirement. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was a supportive grandmother and will be greatly missed. Zoe is survived by her daughters, Mabelann Gathercole, Georgina (Dave) Bagstad, Judy Klaver; grandchildren, Patrick Bagstad, Michael Bagstad, Heather Bagstad, Diane Klaver, Paula Klaver; great-grandchildren, Sebastien Bagstad, Elliot Klaver, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 – 16th Avenue N.W. (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary) on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (1414 Shawnessy Boulevard S.W., Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at the church. Mass will be said at St Simon and Jude Catholic Church Tignish, P.E.I. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 7 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
