Dorothy L. Sziron, 96 of Truro, formerly of Springhill, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8, 2018. Dorothy was born on May 8, 1921 in Saint John, New Brunswick, to Charles and Charlotte (McDowell) Archibald.
In her younger years Dorothy was employed as a receptionist at Wollen Hotel in Amherst and at Springhill Medical Clinic. Dorothy was also the owner of John’s Jewelers in Springhill. She was an active member of The Springhill All Saints Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Wesley United church in Springhill. Those who knew Dorothy know how much she loved her time at the cottage. Family and friends alike have special memories of the times they had there. Her hobbies included playing bridge with her friends, bowling, tending her flowers and road trips with friends.
She was predeceased by her husband John Sziron, her sister Frances Archibald, and brother Donald Archibald. She is survived by her son John Sziron, whom she loved fiercely, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at AH Brown Funeral Home on Friday April 13 at 1 pm.
Donations in Dorothy’s memory can be made to the Springhill Fire Department.
