HUBBARD, John Raymond “Junior” – age 68, Hubbard’s Point, Yarmouth Co., passed away Sunday evening, April 8, with his son Raymond and Betty by his side. Born May 5, 1949, he was the son of the late Raymond and Lizer Hubbard. Junior worked as a scallop fisherman until his health began to decline years ago. He then spent his remaining years at home with his family. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret; children, Dean, Tanya, Raymond and Betty, whom he thought of as a daughter; grandchildren, Ryan, Rebecca and John; a brother, Alvin (Mabel), Hubbard’s Point; sisters, Cecilia Cann, Hubbard’s Point and Rose Smith, Halifax. Besides his parents, Junior was predeceased by sisters, Debbie, Una, Bernice LeBlanc, Carol Hurlburt; brothers-in-law, Bobby Cann, Ernie Hurlburt and Bill McClean. The family would like to thank VON’s Christine, Jenna, Kimberly, Tracy, Ann and others who cared for him on a daily basis, as well as the paramedics, Dr. Loveridge and the nurses and doctors on the third floor at Yarmouth Hospital who cared for Junior during the last week of his life. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date in Saint Anne’s Parish Cemetery, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau.
